Dear Lily June,
All day, your parents told anyone who would listen, “No, we’re not taking her yet. She can’t even say ‘Trick-or-Treat.’ It would feel like exploiting her for sugar or something.”
But then, the night came. And at the last minute, we changed our minds, and we did take you trick-or-treating. And we got the treat of a lifetime.
Someone let you pet their dog, and I said, as I had at each house (expecting nothing, of course) to Say “Thank you,” Lily.
And then, clearly and brightly, you did. You, my brilliant baby girl said “Thank You” for the first time in your life.
And it was sweeter than any candy.

Happy Halloween 2016, Lily June. And here’s to the memories of Halloweens past.
One of the sweetest memories ever!

For the little ones, it’s not about the candy but the magic. So glad you enjoyed it together!

That is cuteness overload. She’s already a kind beautiful soul. She learned that from watching you!

Those eyes! If eyes are the window to the soul, we can see Lily’s soul very clearly. Suck a beautiful, beautiful girl.
